New York: Chinese Man Arrested for Attacking Falun Gong in the Riot (photos)

By Christine Lin and Joshua Philipp, Epoch Times New York Staff, Jun 22, 2008- NEW YORK—A man accused of attacking a Falun Gong practitioner in New York was arrested by police in Flushing today and taken to the NYPD’s 68th Precinct station in Brooklyn. Wei Qiu (whose legal name is Victor Yau), accused of assaulting John Yu, a Falun Gong practitioner, with a metal steering wheel lock in Brooklyn on June 15, was arrested in Queens while distributing anti-Falun Gong flyers written in Chinese.

TVNewser reports that Fox News has taken out an ad in this week's Ad Age congratulating "The O'Reilly Factor" for 90 consecutive months atop the 8pm cable news ratings. "At 8PM, cable news shows have come and gone," the ad proclaims, "but only one has been #1 for 90 consecutive months: The O'Reilly Factor with Bill O'Reilly".

A week ago the minority federal government of Canada, and Industry Minister Jim Prentice, tabled an amendment to the Copyright Act. Entitled Bill C-61, its purpose is to bring Canadian copyright law into compliance with the current WIPO treaty (this despite their being no international legal obligation to implement WIPO - it hasn’t been ratified by Canada).
