I saw a story on the Fox News webpage last night that Sam’s Club was limiting shoppers to 4 20lb bags of rice at a time, because people are trying to stock up in the face of rising food costs. Rising food costs I don’t care about, but buying up all the rice? That’s my turf, darnit, and that makes me nervous. Anyway: The Times - Get farmers to farm? How very radical, by Ross Clark In 1996 68.6 per cent of all food consumed in the UK was produced here. By 2006 that had fallen to 59.5 per cent.
